이동통신 사업자 규격협의체 – OMTP

OMTP (Open Mobile Terminal Platform, http://www.omtp.org) 협의체는 이동통신사 주축으로 단말 플랫폼의 표준을 제정하여 상호간 호환성 유지라는 목적으로 만들어진 협의체이다. OMA등의 규격을 포함하고, 이통사 사업자를 위한 규격/호환성 정의도 한다.

Cingular Wireless, Hutchison 3G, Orange, SK Telecom, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Telenor, T-Mobile and Vodafone의 9개 이통사가 Full Member 역학을 하고 있고 다음과 같은 Spec을 내 놓았다.

 * Software    OMTP Customisation Enabler

 * User Experience    OMTP Customisation (Look & Feel?, Menu and Application Integration) Version 2

 * Hardware    OMTP Codecs
 * Hardware    OMTP Displays

최근에는 SK-Telecom이 WIPI기반의 T-PAK을 표준화 하기 위해 제안을 한 것으로 알려져있다.
